Good Morning!
Today, August 13th marks the true beginning of See The Good. From this day forward, new posts will appear regularly. I hope that you will enjoy them, think about them and even find similarities in your own life to which the stories apply. I also look forward to hearing comments and posting thoughts and stories from anyone who would like to contribute. Just send me an email to contribute.
In addition, there is a significance to this date that I would like to mention. Today would have been my grandfather’s birthday, he would have been 117! And though he is no longer with us physically, he is a part of my heart and who I have become. I would like to think that I have his dedication and enthusiasm, but everyone who knows me says that what I have is his stubbornness. Regardless of what it’s called, it serves me well. I also share his love of family. As a child, I didn’t really understand it, but now I can clearly understand the immense value he placed on every member of our family. He lived through a very difficult time in history, and he made a promise to all of us that we would never endure those same struggles. So he never arrived without several bags of groceries and goodies for us. We wanted to be sure that we never went hungry and that we never did without. I now see that the contents of the bags was not as important as the life lessons and the love that he shared with us. Those gifts have lasted me a lifetime, and I know that they continue to live on through his great-grandson, who carries his name and many of his other amazing qualities.
