Our passage of the day, 1Kings 19:11-13
Most problems we are facing today could not be there if we followed the biblical way of acquiring wealth. However, the problem is, many people want to start from the finish, not the start. This is the reason we have many corruption and unresolved murder cases in the world today. Yes, it has to start small.
The short story below drives the point home,
Peter, after getting his first salary, bought one she-goat. That was in 2014. As I write this devotional, that one she-goat has reproduced over 20 goats. Yes, this is the secret of humble beginnings my dear. Let us translate that into money, one goat is averagely going for 50 dollars that translates to over 1000 dollars if Peter decided to sell the goats. See it is no magic but investing and being patient.
Passages to drive the point home
Mark you, and I repeat God must be involved in all this. God is about to amplify and multiply that small investment you have. Yes, it will become the talk of your region or good still internationally. In 1Kings 18:44-45, Elijah told the servant to go and look up to the sky, what did he see? A small cloud resembling the fist of a man, however, within no time, the sky was dark. A great rain fell from that small cloud. God amplified that small cloud and out of it, came a great rain. Another scenario, in Matthew 14:16-21, Jesus amplified and multiplied the 5 loaves and 2 fish to become a great feast for over 5000 people. In addition, as if that was not enough, there were leftovers that filled 12 baskets. See, starting small, however not many people would want to follow this route. They want to become rich quick!
A parting shot, this world could be a better place, if people followed the biblical principles of resource acquisition. Start small in the lord and expect a great ending.
