Don’t Worry… God’s In Control – Guest Post By AMY TEMPLE

I used to be such a worrywart.  Oh my gosh… was I ever!

Anything… I mean anything and I would start being worried.

I would use the excuse that I was just concerned but…

I was worried.

I would often mention the thing that I was worried about.

I would often think about it.

I also had this particularly annoying habit of picking my nails or skin.

Until I knew what was going to happen with this thing or it was long over… I was basically a wreak.

What made it worse was it affected my relationships, especially with God.

There were times I swear I could hear Him say, “Rest, Relax, Trust”.

And I would say to myself, “no more”. It would work for a little while but then I would start the process all over again.

As I have gotten older (I will be 42 in July) I have really gotten tired of the whole worry habit.

What good does it do?

Now as I am sure you have figured out, I am talking about the bad kind here.

Of course, you should show concern when it’s called for.

I am talking about being so afraid of something that it personally affects how you live your life.

Where you want to do something but you are so afraid of the outcome so just don’t take the risk.

You stay in your little comfort zone and watch others live the life you are so longing for but you don’t do anything about it.

It’s better to be safe than sorry, you use as your reasoning.

You want to improve on something in your life, then make a list.

Once you do and take one item at a time. Be patient.  It will take however long it takes.

Once you get done with one item, reward yourself.

But most importantly…

Don’t worry…

God’s got your back.

He’s in control.
