An Update On MASSAI

I wanted to take a few moments and post an update on the book Massai by Suzette Pulvirentis. While the story of how Massai got to print is amazing and uplifting, that is only the beginning. I finished the book over the weekend and now I understand why it was pulling me to read it. I normally have several books lined up to read, and new ones go on the bottom of the stack, but Massai just needed to go right on the top for some reason.

For me, the mark of a good book is one that you hate to put down and you want to devour like a warm, molten chocolate chip cookie. But like the cookie, when you realiz that it is almost gone, you begin to regret your overzealous attack. And as you turn the final pages, there is a hint of sadness, as you know that the experience is coming to an end. In this case, I knew that Massai, the Chief, Robert and all of the other characters would be gone in just a few pages. And I wasn’t ready to see them go.

But the lessons that Sue related in her work will be with me forever and I can’t thank her enough for that gift! I wonder how the story might continue, and what life holds for everyone. But even that question shines a bright light on reality, as we never get to know what is to come in our future or how long it will take to find us. We must simply have faith.

Thank you again, Sue, for sharing your writing and your wisdom with us. I know that this book will continue to touch every person who reads it and Massai will live on in their hearts as well!
