Your life is a work of art,
Albeit it does not happen all at once
But in pieces, shapes, contours
Etching a rough draft,
Adding a brush stroke here,
A splatter there,
Until the end result
But is there an end?
Our life shapes our own works of art
To create in any manner
That you choose
To bring happiness
To overcome disparity
To achieve awareness
To grow
To blossom
As your art form matures
Some days might become like classic masterpieces
Or like a child’s finger painting
Yet others, like abstract scenes
Void of detail or form
Never be afraid to color outside the lines
Using bold statements and vivid colors
With strong brush strokes.
For that is the fun and joy of creation
And living free
Maturity and wisdom teaches us
That life is a work in progress
No one’s work is perfect!
Not the artist,
Nor writer
Or the humbled of us all
We are not perfect
Seeing life through different lenses
Our mental, emotional pictures varies
The end result is ours,
To ponder, in clarity, as we close our
Eyes for the last time
To begin a new canvas,
In a bright new light!
Larry asked to use the post Art Appreciation- A Lifelong Lesson as a model to write this poem. I was, of course, honored that he wanted to use my work as a model and even more excited when he sent this poem over to share with See The Good! Thank you, Larry, for sharing your thoughts and your work with us. I am truly honored and love that my thoughts can live on in the minds and hearts of others.
Awesome message, Larry! Thanks for sharing your space, Kathy!
