Every Point Matters

There is no view when you are at rock bottom. It is cold, dark and uncomfortable. But in that space, you will find the lessons and the motivation that you need to begin your climb to the top.

And while you might wish that you were never forced to endure such a place, you, and you alone have the power to get yourself up and out of there. If you are lucky, you might find a hand reaching out to offer you some help, but in most cases, it’s all up to you.

The flip side of rock bottom is the crest of the mountain that you set out to climb. That point in your life offers an amazing view and one that you should pause and enjoy. It is the culmination of your desire, effort, and hard work, so drink it in. But also be aware that there will be many people out there who want to push you away from that pinnacle and your success. Don’t let them take away your success, your feeling of accomplishment, or your sense of pride for a job well done.

These two points are the extremes in your life, and they are just that, two points. Never forget that there are countless other days and points that will all contribute to your success or failure. Don’t live just for the one day that you reach the peak or to avoid the one day that you hit rock bottom. Live for each day that is filled with both good and bad, happy and sad, and accomplishments and setbacks. These are the real days that will fill the majority of the journey that is your life. Enjoy each of them, learn from each of them, and be thankful for each of them.
