Little Things Matter…

As adults, we often find that we are focused on a mile-long to-do list each day. And while many tasks need to be accomplished, it is also essential to set aside a few moments for something that makes you happy.

Something as simple as 15 minutes to read a good book and enjoy a cup of coffee without thinking of any of the other demands on your time. Or you might choose to devote that same 15 minutes to gardening or going for a walk. The critical thing to remember is that you deserve some time each day to do something that you enjoy.

That short time will quickly become something that you look forward to and are thankful for in your daily life. It is never a bad idea to be reminded each day that we all have things to be grateful. Those short few minutes will remind you of the importance of gratitude and the importance of feeding your happiness each day.

  1. Indeed! My four o’clock cup of coffee (sadly, now decaf only) while I practice French on Duolingo is something I look forward to every afternoon. This takes all of 15 minutes and it’s my “treat time” to unplug and completely relax. My other time is early in the morning when I also have my cup of decaf close by as I sort through e-mails and do daily readings. Everything you say here so well is oh, so true.
