
Saturday would have been my maternal grandfather’s birthday.
Granddad was one of the kindest people I knew. He went out of his way to make anyone feel special. If you were talking, Granddad would be 100% focused on you! There would be no unnecessary interruptions. He had no cell phone to distract him.
Granddad loved talking with people. And he would talk with them! Granddad never had a condescending air about him. He respected everybody.
Granddad didn’t care who he was talking with.
The other person’s race, gender, nationality, sexual preference or political views didn’t matter. To him, they were another human being and deserved respect.
What a better world it would be if we all lived this way.
