The Magic Of Dreams

As we age and learn more about the world that we live in, many of us also allow that knowledge to limit our goals and dreams. Children dream of being a doctor, lawyer, ballerina, or musician before they ever understand all of the education that is needed to reach their goal. All they are basing their dream on is their own inner desire to be that person or do that thing that they find captivating.

And while children’s dreams can change with each sunrise, it is not because they see the current vision as unattainable, they are just no longer interested in it. However, we grownups tend to allow logic and details to derail many of our ambitions.

We might think we are too old to chase a dream or that there are too many years of education required to pursue a dream job or calling. We might even blame other commitments for consuming all of our time, but the truth is that as adults we are choosing to give up on a dream, unlike a child who is just trading it in for another lofty aspiration.

Dreams are rarely about logic. Dreams are made up of hope, faith, and determination that defy logic in the same way that magic does. We see magic, but we can’t explain it. We have a dream, but we cannot really define the path to reach it. However, that dream can be locked tightly in your heart. You can think about it, work towards it, and achieve it as long as you never abandon your faith and determination.
