Being A Great Leader

True leaders never position themselves far out in front of their team because that distance creates diminished communication. Great leaders know that only close contact will allow them to understand and relate to their team and their team’s needs.

When they are not in the thick of things, they can often be found near the “back,” shepherding/mentoring those who have fallen behind and could become separated from the rest of the team. A great leader is what transforms a group into a team.

  1. Oh, my goodness! It seems you are writing and posting these just for me. Are your other readers feeling the same way? Now that I’m more than immersed in our condo association’s many concerns as a new Board member, I am wanting to be this kind of a true leader. What I love about your posts, Kathy, is they’re pithy and easy to comprehend and sit with and ponder and hopefully embody the wisdom they contain in just a few words. Awesome.

  2. A true leader also knows that he will never be able to please everyone, but will try his best to.
