It can sometimes be challenging to understand what another person’s tears are saying. Tears can be an expression of great sadness, pain, happiness, and even excitement. For many of us, tears are a sort of pressure relief valve for intense emotion. They signify pure raw emotion that is merely overflowing from our heart and pouring out of our eyes.
However, tears are not a sign of weakness or failure. Tears are never wrong because they are a part of someone’s emotions. And no one should ever be forced to justify how they feel. Your feelings are yours and yours alone.
When you see someone with a tear-streaked face, regardless of the emotion behind the tears, your reaction should always be one of gentle kindness and love. This outpouring of emotion, either good or bad, has come from the heart. And only the most delicate touch should be used to wipe away these expressions of the heart.
Kathy, this is so lovely, so very lovely that reading it brings tears to my eyes. What some call our “weakness,” our emotions and our ability to share them and express them in such a humble and human way, is truly our strength grounded in love.
