A rather famous personality recent was quoted as saying, “you get in life what you have the courage to ask for.”
Sadly that is exactly how many people believe the world works. You ask for something, and it will magically appear before you. But the truth is that you get in life what you have the courage to work for. No one is handing out new homes, cars, or huge piles of cash. If you want it, then you need to be willing to work for it. And once you have earned it and understand the level of effort you invested, then you will appreciate what you have. Only then will you know gratitude.
This is so true, Kathy. I have often said that what we don’t have to work for we don’t appreciate.
