Gifts From The Internet

Because we are just entering December, you might be thinking that I am referring to the experience of shopping online while sitting in a cozy spot in my home. But this is a far more critical experience. The gifts that I have received from the Internet are far more essential and priceless than any item that I could have purchased!

My greatest gifts from the Internet include a lady in Michigan, one in Canada, and one in Florida. These ladies have become friends whom I never would have met without the wonders of the world wide web. Not only are we separated geographically, but we also all come from entirely different backgrounds and walks of life. And while our ages, thoughts, and beliefs might not all mirror one another, our love of writing and the Internet bridged these many gaps that might have prevented us from meeting in person.

When I began creating See The Good, I had no idea what would come of my efforts or what I was expecting or even hoping for as an outcome. But I can honestly say that I never expected to meet so many exceptional people. From the kind-hearted soul of a lady in Jamaica to a wise gentleman in Malta, each one of these people has become a new friend who supports and contributes to the good in this world.

When I think of all of these wonderful people who have come into my life in a virtual, but genuine and meaningful way, I See The Good that comes from the Internet and all that it has to offer. Clearly, everything in our world has the potential to be used for good or evil purposes. And just like all “things,” their destiny rests in the hands of those who use them. A good person will find every opportunity to apply his or her gifts for the betterment of our world. That is what drew me to Pam, Diane, and Amy. Each of these ladies has a gift in her heart that allows her to create with her words. And each one shares that gift to help others learn, grow, and succeed in their own life.

I have also discovered that no matter how jaded our society becomes, and how much the media focuses on the negative events in the world, there are still more Pams, Dianes, and Amys out there. And they are all focused on spreading the light of kindness, love, and support. I cannot thank them enough for their friendship, compassion, and the enlightenment that they share with the world. Thanks to the Internet, I have been given the amazing gift of friends from around the world who have changed who I am and helped me to become a better person.

  1. Once more, after reading one of your posts, dear Kathy, I am at a loss for words, words that accurately and deeply express how I feel reading this from you, on December 2nd, just 23 days before Christmas. I am sure Diane and Amy are experiencing similar feelings. Suffice it to say for now, until after our houseguests leave and I am able to recover a bit from all the activity of the past week, you have given me the best gift of all, the Gift of True Friendship, as Gifts from the Internet. So many essays and stories could come from what you have written here because of what your words of wisdom inspire. Diane and Amy, do you feel the same? With much gratitude, respect, peace, joy and lots of love to all!!!!! (See what beauty and goodness you have created, Kathy, from your commitment to See and Share the The Good?!?!?
