I may have learning disabilities but I’m not stupid.
I may learn things differently but I’m just like you.
I have feelings. I hurt, too.
God may have made me different but that doesn’t mean I’m not just as special.
I’m going to make a good life for myself. I’m going to accomplish what I wish.
Am I going to allow anything to stop me? Oh, no!
I may have learning disabilities but I’m not stupid.
So get out of my way…
I’m coming through!

I agree. For many of us, our imperfections and disabilities are visibly, and that allows cruelty and thoughtlessness to speak and act. But many of us have hidden disabilities and imperfections that we carry around as extra baggage. We are all imperfect in different ways, and that is sometimes our best qualities. That is what makes some of us more beautiful, more thoughtful and more understanding. Treat others how you want to he treated.
Love it, Amy. We are all different in one way or another. We are each unique beings created by a God who loves variety and who loves every one of us. You may have a learning disability, but I’ll bet that there are things that you can do that many others cannot do. And you have the gumption to not allow anything to stop you. That’s courage. That’s tenacity. That’s victory. And that’s more than a lot of people can boast of. I admire your willingness to declare that you’re “coming through”. I believe you will accomplish much more than you can envision right now. God has wonderful plans for you because you are willing. God bless you Amy.
