We Are All Human Beings

How many crises do we, as humans, need to endure before we really grasp and embrace that we are all in this world, this life, together? We have fought world wars, divided ourselves over political views, geography, and the color of our skin. And even in the face of a global pandemic, we are a world divided.

Yes, we have differences, many of them in some cases. But ultimately, we are all human beings. We all lose the same red blood when we are cut, and we shed the same tears when we are sad or afraid. So why do we still find it so difficult to do what is best for the human race as a whole?

  1. That question is older than time and has no right or wrong answer. Yet tragedy tends to be the glue that pulls us together temporarily. That is not a good thing, but not a bad thing either because we learn more about ourselves and humanity when we are in a crisis. Yes, crisis tends to bring us together more than anything else. We can’t live in a crisis every day. I am willing to take what I get, and use it as a guide to staying good outside of all crises.

  2. Absolutely great post!!!!! Yes, indeed to all of what you affirm here, Kathy! We all breathe the same air and drink the same water. We are all made of Starstuff and we will all return to Dust AKA Starstuff when our bodies go back to Mother Earth, our Souls to our Everlasting Father. Einstein said, “The final mystery is mystery itself.” We humans don’t know everything, far from it. But what we do know, which COVID-19 is teaching us once again, is that we ARE our brother’s and sister’s keeper and they are our keepers. We must come together in our differences or we shall all perish. Wake up, grow up and make up so we can work together collaboratively to restore our planet to full and complete health, so we can for generations to come, ad infinitum, enjoy the gift of life in its full glory and majesty.
