Happy Mother’s Day Eve!

Even though this is a day early, I would like to wish all of the Mothers out there a very Happy Mother’s Day tomorrow. Moms have a tough job, and I think that celebrating all that our Moms do for us can spill over into a two-day event!

I was blessed to have a wonderful mother to love and care for me. Not a day goes by that I don’t think of her and use the wisdom and the lessons that she taught me. But I must say, the hardest of all lessons was saying goodbye. However, in the almost nine years since she has been gone, I continue to learn from that lesson and many others she shared with me. I have come to understand that it was her time to go. And that there are some very difficult things that we need to find a way to do because they are best for someone we love.

Today and every day, I miss her. But I know that she is happy and someday we will meet again. So Happy Mother’s Day, Mom, and thank you for the lifetime of love and support you gave to me.

I would also like to wish a very Happy Mother’s Day to my other Mom. To call her my mother-in-law just doesn’t sound right. The only law that makes her my Mom is the law of the heart. I could not love her any more, even if she had given birth to me. Because this Mom gave me a gift equally as important as my life. She gave me the gift of her only son, who changed my life. I am a better person because of him and by extension because of Mom.

She is an amazingly loving, thoughtful, and understanding person. And I could not ask for a more wonderful Mom. Thank you, Mom, for all that you do for us, your love, and for being the exceptional role model that you are. Happy Mother’s Day!

Happy Mother’s Day to all of the amazing Moms out there. Without your love and support, so many of us would be completely lost.

  1. Bbbeeeaaauuutttiiifffuuulll piece. Mothers are the platform that all of us stand on to get where we are, want to go and will go.
Mothers are at the heart of everything we do. Good or bad mothers, they teach us valuable life lessons. I think we learn more from our mothers than anyone else in our lives. Let us remember and celebrate them tomorrow. All of them. Happy and relaxing Mother’s Day to all mothers, grandmothers, stepmothers, godmothers, auntie-mothers, father-mothers, stand-in-mothers, adopted mothers, and the soon to be mothers. May tomorrow be memorable and happy for you.

  2. What a beautiful testimony to the power of Mother Love! You are your mother’s daughter, Kathy, for you have shown the same nurturing love, kindness, wisdom and caring to others, including lucky me! I’m sure you feel your mother’s presence with you every day as I still feel my mother’s presence every day and more so as I grow older myself. I am currently reading a book about Julian of Norwich who lived in the late fourteenth and early fifteenth centuries and is recognized as the first writer in English who can be identified worth certainty as a woman! Her Revelations of Divine Love is filled with the same nurturing wisdom and love that you write about!
