Family- More Than Just Genetics

There have been many valuable lessons learned from the current pandemic. But one of the most important is that family is more about what is in your heart than what is in your DNA. While many people have returned home to ride out this time with their birth families, many others have turned to the family that they have picked rather than the one they were dealt. Those who have banded together to form an adoptive family unit now know that some human bonds are even stronger than the genetic ties created by Mother Nature.

In our new normal, family members are the ones who are there to pick you up when the rest of the world has turned its back on you. They grocery shop for you if you are unable to leave the house. They make sure that you have human contact, even if it is through a closed window or on a computer screen. And they watch out for one another, not out of duty or habit but out of love and genuine concern. It’s a bond that is as beautiful and amazing as anything ever created in nature.

  1. Triple, triple, triple, bbbeeeaaauuutttiiifffuuulll. Yes, this pandemic has taught many of us about love, gratitude, tolerance, and understanding. And for the ones who had it already, they have developed a greater appreciation and respect for the kindness they have given and received in their time of need. This pandemic have shown the humanity in many of us. That is a good thing.
