A Tribute To A Very Special Lady – By AMY TEMPLE

Today would have been my paternal grandmother’s birthday.

Grandma was one of my biggest supporters in my pursuit of a writing career.  She loved to receive letters from me.  If a few months would go by, I would get a phone call: “Where’s my letter?” Right after hanging up, I would go right to my computer!

Cancer took her from us several years ago.  The best way I can think of to honor her memory is to continue on in my quest to be a writer.

I know that she is up in heaven cheering me on right now.
And Grandma…

Each and every single story is for you.

I love you and miss you

Amy- Thank you so much for sharing these loving memories of your Grandma. I was fortunate enough to also have a wonderful Grandmother who always loved and supported me. She was wise, inspiring, and far ahead of her time. We shared many summers while I learned countless lessons from her. Thank you for this important reminder to appreciate all of those very special people in our lives. Happy Birthday, Grandma!

Please join me in thanking Amy for her contribution this week and every Sunday! Her words, thoughts, and gifts enrich each reader and add immense value to this website. Thank you AMY!

  1. Amy, this is so beautiful and heartwarming to read. Your grandma is still watching over you and encouraging you and celebrating with you every day of your beautiful life. Thank you for sharing this lovely message on such a lovely lady’s birthday. Blessings to you both!

  2. I didn’t get a chance to know any of my grandparents, and I believe that I have lost a lot of knowledge and love. I intend to be a better grandmother to my children’s children. I intend to enjoy it too. Lovely piece. I pray I have that powerful impact on my grandchildren that your Nana had on you.
