This is a slight adaptation as it was written four years ago, but it still applies very well to today… Ninety years, in the abstract, it sounds like more than enough for a lifetime. The changes that one would bear witness to in nearly a century, are nothing less than mind-boggling. Society, technology and even human interaction bear little resemblance to what they were in 1925. Born on this day in 1925, a man would…
The world is brimming with amazing things; breathtaking views divine food and drink and heart-stopping excitement. And all of this can be explained by or is created by science. Matter is manipulated to create what we want and the result is not only predictable but expected. The only wildcard in our universe has no image, no weight or size, nor does it hold a space on the periodic table- the list of all elements to…
I am not a numbers person in most aspects of my life. Words have always worked better for me in that they are more flexible. There is right and wrong in math, a sort of black and white world, but words seem to offer a vast greyness that I find comforting. But while reading a while back, I stumbled onto FIB Poems. These are a blend of words and numbers as the structure is based…
My grandfather passed away after an extended illness when I was five. He had spent the previous year in and out of the hospital due to complication from diabetes. So I am guessing that my only true memories of him coming to visit us at our house occurred when I was three or four. Even though I was very young, I can clearly remember going to the door with my mother and seeing Grandpa standing…
There is a very fine line between positivity and insanity, that can be almost indistinguishable to most of us. I believe that if you are reading See The Good, then you are a believer in projecting a positive outlook in order to always find that redeeming shred of good in even the worst moments, events and also people. But when does that worthy effort become little more than a pipe dream? And how many times…
‘’Everyday and in every moment of our lives, we are called to Love. Love is to be given to others in every situation we find ourselves in. In the good experiences and even in the difficult situations we are to give Love to others. It sounds easy… but it is not that easy to do. The Good News is that it is possible, that you give this Love to others. This is possible through the Love of Christ… the…
If you have been on this world enough you know that there is particularly a rule for everything. I mean, EVERYTHING! Somebody says you must do this. Then here comes somebody else saying, “No. You got to this!” I don’t know about you but it makes want to pull on my hair and scream! But have you ever noticed that when you do the one thing that was suggested, they complain about you doing it?…
Fairytales, fables and old-time lore Are all just stories for those who search to find more. But true love is stronger in every way With each touch, each smile, and even when you turn grey. Nothing will break this bond that you share Not even time nor vast distance would dare. You have joined together for a life as one A single journey toward the setting sun. On paths, you travel far and near But…
Anger is a very crucial state which determines a lot in a particular human life. We can hardly say there’s any human on earth who’s never gotten angry. Anger can be likened to a disease which eats us up on the inside before the effect(s) are seen on the outside. For most humans, if not all, the most probable response we have towards any form of unexpected behaviors of others towards us is to respond…
As a kid not all of the nuances of family relationships make sense. An aunt is an aunt, but you don’t necessarily associate her as your mother’s or father’s sister. She has just always been your aunt. And in-laws make no sense at all. So I never really thought much about my dad’s relationship with my aunt Sue until the day of my father’s funeral. I had been very fortunate to grow up and never…
