In a world where everyone feels the need to yell to be heard, it is so gratifying to have others choose to read my thoughts and words. Writers have always known that volume doesn’t matter as much as the quality of your words. Speak or write thoughtfully, and others will hear you.
Remember the days when we could recognize and appreciate each other’s differences? Many say it was a kinder, gentler time. Have progress and technology stolen our ability to show kindness, or can we find our way back to respect and goodwill toward others?

There are times in life when you need to make a choice and live with the consequences. You can choose to share kindness and know that it will continue to grow through every person you meet. Or you can choose to feel anger and hate, knowing that it will spread equally as fast. But whichever you choose, you must understand that it will eventually surround and consume you.

Today would have been my paternal grandmother’s birthday. Grandma was one of my biggest supporters in my pursuit of a writing career. She loved to receive letters from me.
