When is the price of something too high? The answer is simple. When it costs you your happiness, self-respect, or self-esteem… The price is too high.
We cannot change the sun, the wind, the rain, or the waves across the ocean. We cannot change another person’s ideas, thoughts, or preconceptions. All we can control is how we choose to live our lives, how we treat others, and the faith we continue to have in humanity, a greater being, and purpose for us all.
Just when you feel like you are at the edge of a cliff with nowhere to go, you discover a new skill, solution, or option. Maybe you learn to fly over the chasm, or the powers that be send you a winged friend to help you along on your journey. All you need to know at these challenging times is that you can never give up.
First and last experiences are like the cover of a book. Some can hint at the content. But it is everything chronicled on the pages in between that really tell your story.
Don’t think that any moment or single mistake defines who you are. There are always opportunities to grow, improve and atone for past shortcomings.
