Everyone is an Author

“I am a constant editor. I shed people, I shed clothing, I shed possessions, I shed ideas. The biggest thing that I’ve shed is my own limitations and perception of who I am.” This is a quote from Jamie Lee Curtis in the October 2018 issue of Good Housekeeping.

Sometimes we forget that each of us is the author of our own story, our own life. We make choices about what we would like to do with our time and energy as well as how we choose to see the world around us. And most importantly, we choose how we want to see ourselves. All of these choices are plotting the points on the path that will become our life’s journey.

Make your choices wisely but understand that each step on your journey can be as temporary or permanent as you choose to make it. You might find a calling or a hidden talent that becomes your true passion. In this instance, you will follow that dream for a lifetime. But another step might be just a short respite before moving on with your journey. Long term or short term, absorb the knowledge from each encounter and carry that with you as you move forward. Each person’s journey is a constant work in progress.
