There is no shame in being a responsible adult who does the work that is available to earn a living. But it is also important that you keep your dream alive. This might mean that you work a few hours a week volunteering your services to gain experience for your dream job. Or maybe you attend classes at night or online to get that degree or certificate that opens the door to your new career. But always remember that you deserve the opportunity to chase your dream and do what you love to do.
There is just something about a person who has found his or her calling that no one can deny or miss. And it is not something that you can fake, even if the job you are doing pays really great money. Somewhere deep in each of our hearts is a tiny space where we each hold a gift that needs to be released and shared with the world. When you find the key and release your gift, the entire world benefits and you bask in a feeling of accomplishment and fulfillment that you have never before experienced.
So go to work from 9 to 5 or whatever your job requires, but also listen to that tiny whisper in your head that drives you to paint, write, study medicine or find the solution to world hunger. It is that tiny little voice that will provide the passion that you need to do something life-altering.
