Please don’t be sad… A Guest post By Amy Temple

Please don’t be sad
God’s calling me home to a bright, beautiful place where the sun always shines and love is free to roam.
You know I don’t want to go.
I’d rather stay here with you but my work is done.
There’ll be nothing left for me to do.
You may be crying those sad, lonely tears but do know this, I’ll be free from the pain so rest your fears.
I’ll always love you.
I’ll take our memories with me for I’ll never forget how things used to be.
There’s just one thing I ask of you, one job that you must do…
Carry on with me in your heart and
never allow us to be apart.
This isn’t the end
My love for you I”ll continue to send.
Please don’t be sad.
God’s called me home.

Amy wrote this poem over 20 years ago in memory of Mom-Mom Deberry (1903-1996)- Thank you, Amy, for sharing this very touching piece. I am certain that she was a truly amazing woman and that she is beaming with pride as she sees all that you have accomplished in your life and the goodness in your heart as you work to help others.

  1. This was an inspiring piece, most of what I’ve read here have been that way. Keep it up, many of us need inspiring on a daily basis. How would one go about posting a piece here?

  2. Amy- This is my favorite post that you have contributed to this point! It really reaches out and touches my heart. When I read this I hear the words in my own grandmother’s voice. I feel like you have given me a wonderful opportunity to hear from my grandmother just one more time… thank you so much for that amazing gift! Kathy
