Let It Go – For Your Own Benefit! a guest post by AMY TEMPLE

As I continue on with my adult life, I am so surprised by how some of my fellow grownups behave.

Some act so impatient.  They get antsy. They worry about this and they worry about that.

They want to be in control of everything and if things don’t work out how they want, some go completely nuts!

I want to say them, what is there to do be so worked up about?

Yes, there are pretty serious events going on that we should be concerned over and we should be doing what we can to help but…

You can’t do anything about someone cutting you off.  You can’t do anything about someone taking the parking spot you were wanting.

The list goes on and on and on.

No, don’t be somebody’s doormat. Don’t allow someone to take advantage of you.  If you or someone you know are in any kind of danger, do what you can to get out!

But just don’t get so stirred up over something you have no say over.

Just drop it, let it go and move on.

  1. Amy, this is a great reminder to all of us to grow up and let go of the addiction we seem to have nowadays to get everything we want, or think we need, QUICK, EASY and FREE! It’s been my experience in life that nothing worth having is quick, easy and free other than perhaps the ability to be awake and aware to the beauty of nature around us and in others, if we open our hearts and minds to the miracle of creation and of simply being alive. Thank you for your insights and your ability to write about them with such clarity.

  2. Very good advice. So many people become dangerous when they get angry, especially in the form of road rage. Others lay awake at night because of things they have no control over. Others allow themselves to get depressed thinking about all the negative things happening around them, things, as you said, they have no control over. By taking control over those things we can control, we clear a pathway to move through where the other things don’t look so huge after all. Thanks for sharing your thoughts on this subject, Amy.

  3. It’s easy to say it when you can’t feel it. Our world has better technology, medicine, housing, etc., than ten, twenty years go, yet more problems. Everyone I know have problems. There are less solutions than problems. I know 14,15,16 year olds having to make adult decisions for themselves, some even younger. We just have to find a positive coping mechanism, and try to help each other more.
