Enjoy This Holiday Season

It is easy to become overwhelmed by the holidays and the start of the new year. We place added pressure on ourselves to find the perfect gifts and live up to some almost unattainable resolutions. And in the process, we miss what the holidays are really meant to be.

While gifts and celebrations are fun, this is a time to remember and create positive thoughts for the future. We hear the holiday music and smile. But not because we are really hoping for a White Christmas, we are thinking of the past holidays spent with family and friends. These happy memories are reminders of all of the blessings in our lives. These are the gifts that will be under our holiday tree no matter what we spend on physical gifts, and they are the ones that hold lasting value.

As we look forward to the start of the new year, this is a time to be filled with positive thoughts, clear plans, and a renewed motivation to follow our hearts and strive to reach our goals. Unrealistic resolutions will last only a few weeks or maybe even a few days. But following what is in your heart will guide you throughout the new year and beyond.

Take time to relax and enjoy your holiday season with those you love. Share the happy memories from years gone by, and create new memories that will last a lifetime. No one will remember what was in each box and gift bag 10 years from now. But they will remember the fun, friendship, and the love that was shared as you gather with loved ones to celebrate and share time together.

  1. A perfect message for me for today, dear Kathy! Thank you from the bottom of my heart as it’s quite spot on!!!!! You must be prescient as well as a terrific writer!!!!

  2. I agree. For many of us, after life has beaten us down, our memories, sometimes are the only thing that gives us the strength to go on. So for this holiday, make good memories that will carry through the next holiday and through life.
